Zombie Crisis: Director's Cut - Development Log #06-14-2025
Finishing up some loose ends as we get closer to our v2.0.0 release.
Change log:
- (PSP/PSVita) Customized EBOOT for Director’s Cut
- Updated menus and logos for Director’s Cut
- Rebalanced weapon and enemy damage and health values
- Rebalanced item pickup amount values
- Updated item, quote text and level values
- Tweaked enemy AI and added art and sound for enhanced blood and gore effects
- Enabled wall decals and added art for bullet holes, blood splatter and more
- Added three new weapons: An assault rifle, sub machine gun with grenade launcher and shotgun with all new art and sound effects
- Replaced the pistol with an original M14 rifle
- Replaced melee with the rifle butt stock
- Added new civilian zombie enemy with custom art and sound effects
- Tweaked, enhanced and rebalanced enemy AI
- Added new prop sprites for environmental storytelling including simple NPC’s
- Added new enemy, a soldier with a ranged assault rifle attack
- Added new enemy, a shuffling zombie that will hunt you and lunge
- Updated help menu screens with new default control layouts for PSP/KBM
- Added a new enemy, a Humvee vehicle that will attack and spawns an enemy soldier when destroyed with custom art and sound effects
- Added a new enemy, a military helicopter that can patrol areas and attack the player that spawns an ejecting enemy soldier when destroyed with custom art and sound effects
- Adjusted item drop rates on enemies to create a sufficient ammo economy and keep the player properly stocked
- Added new special effects sound and graphics for explosions and fire
- Adjusted blood/gore particle effects and added more variety, some gore chunks will now stay on the ground
- Updated and changed sound effects for various actors, weapons and functions
- Created documentation for user level creation and mod tutorials for the community to create post-release content
- Created mod tool package to ship with v2.0.0 with documentation for the community to create post-release content
Currently development is moving along smoothly as we're getting to the end of our journey. Right now I'm investigating options for touching up some art assets as well as remastering the original levels with Director's Cut content and possibly even creating possible new levels as well, I will update with any applicable information as it comes to me.
Once the levels are completed full scale testing on all platforms will begin to ensure a smooth landing once we launch.
